May 3, 2008 – Rocket Derby

Rocket Derby is a non-competitive fun event.  The boys will make their own rocket at a den meeting.  We go to an open field at Centennial HS where a safety area of launch pads is utilized to host the rockets with engines that the parents attach.  The boys take turns “pressing the button” from a safe distance to launch the rockets and they soar quite a distance!  The most fun is when they chase after them and return to repeat the process until the engines and/or rockets are all gone
