October 3, 2009 – District Bike Rodeo– 10am to 2pm

This fun event will be held at Cradlerock School in Columbia. – Finally after a long absence, the Bike Rodeo is back.  Obstacle Courses, Slow Races, Bike Paths, Bike Checks, and Helmet Checks.  Registration starts July 15 and ends September 15.  Please email Evelyn Mogren at stacymog@verizon.net for registration info and questions. 

 

September 20, 2009 – Pack Picnic and Raingutter Regatta – Time 1:00 pm to 4pm

Join the Pack for a fun afternoon at Cedar Lane Park East.  There will be hot dogs and hamburgers and all kinds of yummy foods.  Families are asked to bring a dish to share.  The picnic is our first pack meeting and a "welcome back" get-together for returning and new scouts and their families in September.  There is a playground nearby and annual Raingutter Regatta is always a fun time.  Details to follow.   

 

August 2, 2009 – Annual Pack Pool Party – 8pm to 10pm

The Annual Pack Pool Party will be held at Nob Hill Swim Club. Bring your bathing suit, towel, and goggles and cool off with the rest of the Pack at this fun family event.  Drinks provided.  Please bring a snack to share.  Directions http://nobhillswimclub.com/directions.htm#pdirections.

 

July 11, 2009 – Fishing Tournament – 8:30am to 1pm

The 11th Annual District Fishing Tournament is a competitive event being held at Centennial Lake this year, and the cost is $5 per Scout.  This is a “catch and release” – from the shoreline- tournament with all Maryland State and Local fishing laws in effect.  Bring your fishing rod, your bait, and your bucket for a morning of fun fishing.  No licenses or bait will be for sale at the tournament.  You must self register for this event. June 27 – July 25, 2009 – Camp Oest

Boating…Swimming…BB Gun…Archery…Nature…Crafts…Campfire…Camp Oest is part of the Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation located in northern Hartford County.  More than 2,200 acres of outdoor adventure are beckoning you to camp there with age-appropriate activities all throughout the 3-4 day session.  There are many sessions available even if you cannot go with the pack during this week.  Also, Week 10 is designated for family camping; other sessions are for Scout and parent.  For all information Camp Oest, please go to http://www.baltimorebsa.org/ (click on “Camping” on left side, then “Camp Oest”).  This event has self registration.

 

June 22-June 26, 2009 – Cub Scout Day Camp

May 29-31 – Spring Camping Trip – Harpers Ferry

This year we’re going camping at Harpers Ferry.  Michael Katz is coordinating. 

 

May 22, 2009 – We Remember  - (Time TBD)

We gather at CLES in our Class A uniforms for this Baltimore Area Council even and carpool to Baltimore National Cemetery to place an American flag in front of every tomb to honor Veterans who have served our country.  There are 42,000 graves of military veterans at the cemetery.  The flag planting takes half an hour and then there is a memorial ceremony afterwards.  Seeing all those flags is a site your Scout should not miss.  Jim Baker who is coordinating.

 

May 19, 2009 – Pack Meeting – 7pm

Pack meeting with Den Bridgeway Ceremony for all dens.  Class A uniforms to be worn.

 

May 2, 2009 – Rocket Derby

Rocket Derby is a non-competitive fun event.  The boys will make their own rocket at a den meeting.  We go to an open field at Centennial HS where a safety area of launch pads is utilized to host the rockets with engines that the parents attach.  The boys take turns “pressing the button” from a safe distance to launch the rockets and they soar quite a distance!  The most fun is when they chase after them and return to repeat the process until the engines and/or rockets are all gone.

 

April 21, 2009 – Pack Meeting – 7pm

Pack meeting on Internet Safety with a guest speaker from the MD State Police.  All siblings are welcome.  Class A uniforms to be worn.

 

March 15, 2009 – Blue & Gold Dinner – 3:00 pm to 6:30pm

Celebrate and ring in the Scouting year at our annual Blue and Gold Dinner at Burleigh Manor Middle School.  The theme is “Jurassic Pack”  Each Scout will be recognized for achieving their ranks this year, and we will bid farewell to the Webelos II as they bridge into their future endeavors.  Please RSVP to sadiemaebr@comcast.net by March 1. March 7, 2009, Scouting for Food – 9:00 am

It is time to sign up for our territory for Scouting for Food.  This year’s Scouting for Food campaign will take place on Saturday, March 7th.  Bag distribution will be the first week of March and bag collection day is Saturday, March 7.  More details…  Directions…

 

February 21, 2009, Saturday -  Pinewood Derby and Auction

The Pinewood Derby is scheduled for February 21st..  Kits were distributed at the December Pack Meeting.  This year, the derby will be at a new location at Burleigh Manor Middle School.  Please keep in mind the following when building your cars: rules and schedule….RESULTS

 

February 7, 2009, Saturday – Klondike Derby

This year's Klondike Derby will be held at the McKeldin Area of Patapsco State Park.  The cost of $9 for Scouts. Adults who are registered Scouters (leaders) are free.  Other adults will be $2.  This is a great outdoor winter activity and we had wonderful weather last year.  Please email Jennifer Riina by December 18, 2008 if you would like to participate. January 20, 2009, Tuesday – Pack Meeting – 7:00 pm

Make a cake with a “Weather” theme, and unleash your creative talents.  Bring the cake to the January Pack meeting and enter it in the Cake Bake contest.  You could be the winner in one of six categories 1) Most Beautiful 2) Most Awe-Inspiring 3) Most Realistic 4) Most Delicious-looking 5) Most Original/Creative 6) Most like the Weather Out-of-doors.  Details have been sent via email.  Please keep in mind the following rules

 

December 9, 2008, Tuesday – Pack Meeting – 7:00 pm

The theme of this meeting is “The Great Outdoors”.  We will also be collecting toy donations for Toys for Tots.  Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate if you want to participate (preferably in the $10 or above range).

 

November 22, 2008, Saturday – National Family Volunteer Day  - Time 9:00am to noon

Centennial Park, Pavilion G. This is the rescheduled date from the rained out November 18 day.

 

November 18, 2008, Tuesday – Pack Meeting – 7:00 pm

We will be collecting items for the Thanksgiving Food baskets for the First Presbyterian Church of Howard Count at this pack meeting.  Let’s help some families in our community have a more bountiful holiday.  Please see the list of items in the email that Anna Katz sent to the pack, including canned food.

 

November 15, 2008, Saturday – National Family Volunteer Day  - Time 9:00am to noon

National Family Volunteer Day will be held from 9am to 12 noon.  Our pack has signed up to participate in this community event, and we will be helping out the Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks to clean up at Centennial Park – Pavilion G.   Please bring a canned good to donate to the HC Food Bank.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Anna Katz.  Siblings are welcome.  Details...

October 21, 2008 Tuesday – Pack Meeting– Time 7:00PM

October is Fire Safety Month and we are going to celebrate at First Presbyterian’s fire ring.  Come to our yearly campfire to listen to Mr. Steve Stone, Troop 361 Scoutmaster and Assistant Chaplain, Howard County Fire Department, give us some tips on fire safety.  Also enjoy making your own s’mores at a real campfire that night?  Please wear Pack T-shirts and dress warmly.
