PACK 361 RACE RULES
All cars must pass inspection to qualify for the race.
The inspection points are as follows:
Each Scout can enter one car, and the car (or parts thereof) cannot have placed in a previous race.
The length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
The height of the car shall not exceed 3 inches.
The inside width of the wheels must be at least 1 & ¾”. The total width of the car shall not exceed 2 & ¾”.
The weight of the car shall not exceed 5 ounces. Cars will be weighed on official scales, prior to the race. Weight must be adjusted to be within the limits and is the responsibility of the Cub Scout and his parent.*
Axles and wheels shall be as provided in the kit. Only the official wheels are acceptable. Wheels can be lightly sanded to remove surface imperfections, but treads must be left flat. Cars with modified wheels will be disqualified.
Clearance under the car body shall be at least ¼ inch.
Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
The car shall not ride on any kind or type of springs.
Any details added must be within length, width, and weight limits.
The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices.
No loose materials of any kind are allowed in or on the car.
No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or dry powder teflon.
Once inspected and approved, all cars will be placed in a holding pit and shall not be handled by anyone until the race.
Only pack members will be allowed to race.
